Winter Storm Mateo Bringing Heavy Snow to the Midwest, Great Lakes

Winter Storm Warning.

Winter Storm Mateo is expected to produce a swath of moderate to heavy snow from Montana to New England with the Great Lakes area to be hardest hit.  The storm is expected to dump up to 14 inches of snow in some areas, including Chicago and Detroit later today and through the day on Friday.

Winter storm warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service where snowfall is expected to be heaviest in parts of southern Lower Michigan, northern Indiana, northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and eastern Iowa. This includes Chicagoland and most of the Milwaukee and Detroit metro areas.

Airlines have already cancelled more than 600 flights for Friday.

Gallagher Bassett offices throughout the affected regions have taken all precautions to ensure the safety of its employees and the continued claims operation without service disruptions.  All emergency and precautionary plans are in effect and operational.  We will continue to monitor the storm as it progresses.
