Gallagher Bassett is proud to attend this year’s CLM Annual Conference March 14-16. The CLM is the largest professional association in the insurance industry with more than 45,000 professionals in the claims resolution and litigation management industries.
This year's Annual Conference will be held in Houston, Texas.
We are proud to announce that Laurie Gregorio, SVP of Account Management, has been named a finalist for The CLM Claims Professional of the year in the category of Claims Management. Laurie is one of five finalists. The winner of this category will be announced during the opening general session, taking place at Minute Maid Park, Home of the World Champion Houston Astros. Congratulations to all of the finalists on this well-deserved honor.
The CLM Annual conference boasts an impressive lineup of more than 80 education sessions over the three day event. Gallagher Bassett will be featured in several engaging sessions.
Leading off, Freddy Mistry, AVP Claims Operations will present, “Putting the Client First: Increasing Awareness of Litigation Impacts for Insureds,” on Thursday, March 15th at 10:10 a.m. Panelists will discuss high profile, claims-related issues such as the impact to an insured's reputation once a litigated matter becomes public, eDiscovery that can be a monumental drain on an insured in both time and expense, and distractions created by depositions that can cause a loss of productivity.
Up next, Chris Carucci, Client Executive Director and CLM Board Member will present, “ Dancing in a Minefield: Avoiding Ethical Pitfalls,” on March 15, 2018 at 10:10 AM. Experts on this panel will address prevalent ethical challenges during litigation including initial required disclosures, potential conflicts of interest, the role of independent counsel, responses to excess policy demands.
Then, Caryn Siebert, VP of Carrier Practice, will present, “Risk Management for Client Confidentiality in the Digital Age,” on March 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM. This presentation will address this risk from the standpoint of attorneys, risk managers, third party administrators, and insurers with key tips on how to stay current, fulfill ethical obligations, and stay ahead of the curve.
Finally, Cliff Connor, VP of Medicare Compliance will present, “An Historic Shift in Medicare Recovery Policy Looms Large in 2018,” on March 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM. This session addresses the impending issues surrounding Liability Medicare Set-Asides (LMSAs) and No-Fault Medicare Set-Asides (NFMSAs).
