On February 10, Gallagher Bassett joined partner, Miami Dade County Public Schools, to promote the important work of educating our future leaders and citizens. Gallagher Bassett was an Honor Roll sponsor of the third annual For the Love of Learning Gala, in support of the Foundation for New Education Initiatives. The Foundation, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2018, secures supplemental funding to enhance student achievement through innovation and community engagement.
Most amazing were the students who were there to represent the talents they have gained through the Foundation. We experienced the cool be-bop of the Jazz Combo from the New World Center of the Arts. The Star Spangled Banner was beautifully sung by Toni-Rae Forbes from Michael M. Krop Senior High School, and the Empresses High School Dance team presented poetic and fluid contemporary jazz routine.
Alberto M. Carvahlo (Superintendent of Schools, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Chair of the Foundation, as seen in the thumbnail) expressed his heartfelt thanks to the sponsors for funding such noble initiatives as providing housing for 3,000 students living in insecure environments, promoting cultural and arts activities, and equipping students with wireless devices and computer labs. The Foundation also supports teachers with innovative professional development, and the Parent Academy, to increase family learning opportunities. They further the development of the students by funding paid internships.
GB is proud to support Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and their commitment to community, public education, and giving students the world.
