More than 50 Resolution Managers from across Gallagher Bassett are attending the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance Claims College in Baltimore, MD, September 5th through 8th.  Established in 2012, the Claims College is a leading professional development and educational program of The CLM.

The Claims College provides top-tier claims education in multiple lines of coverage from workers’ compensation, to property, to liability claims.

GB Chief Claims Officer Ajay Sinha opened the conference on Wednesday night by playing a leading role in the Chief Claims Officers forum.  Claims leaders from across the risk and insurance marketplace came together at this forum to network and share insights and practices in claims management.   This year’s forum addressed the multi-faceted topic of claims satisfaction.  Earlier this year, as part of the 2017 Advisen Claims Satisfaction Survey, risk managers rated Gallagher Bassett #1 overall as Top Casualty Claims Handling Insurers & TPA.

The Claims College offers three levels of education within each of area of study.  The college is comprised of industry leading faculty members and deans.  This year, our own Cindy Lamantia is serving as Dean of the school of Workers’ Compensation.   In addition, GB Assistant Branch Manager Dorothy Stolle is a Level 1 faculty member in the School of WC.  She is teaching a course on managing claims and forecasting and reserves.

In the School of Casualty, Litigation Supervisor Felicia McDonnell is a Level 2 faculty member this year, and she is teaching a course on litigation management while partnering with defense counsel.

Finally, GB Vice President Caryn Siebert has attained the highest level of faculty status in the School of Transportation.  She is teaching a course on the “Reptile Theory” at trial, pre-trial practice, and witness preparation.  She is also teaching a course on advanced settlement and mediation tactics.

Good luck to this year’s class of Claims College attendees on your final exams!  Congratulations on your accomplishments and continued success in your professional development.
